Heraklion is the island of Crete's main city and key business centre, with cafes, clubs, designer shops and many cultural centres. Rethmynon is now known as Crete's richest cultural town on the beach and the locals take great pride of their heritage. It represents a place of contrasts, with a long and remarkable history as well as untouched places of natural beauty and traditions. It has a combination of the charm of the old town and graced with a long, sandy beach stretching for miles. The Old town offers a mix of architecture and history, with its contemporary buildings, traditional houses as well as mosques and Byzantine churches.

Sitia is a small and pleasant coastal town, built in a semicircle and a typical mediterranean port. The locals of the Sitia region are known as the friendliest on the island of Crete.
Sitia is also an important source of wealth due to its industrial growth, commerce, agriculture and export.

Agios Nikolaos in the magnificent island of Crete has wonderful sunshine for more than 300 days in the entire year! Agios Nikolaos combines traditional hospitality with the authenticity of the genuine Cretan way of life. Hersonissos nowadays is considered as the most developed tourist resort of Crete and very cosmopolitan, made up of several small villages and the main area of Port Hersonissos. It keeps the name of the ancient city that was located in the place where the harbour is today. The waterfront of Hersonissos is lined with music bars, discos, tavernas and superb shopping. The resort has one of the largest and most beautiful beaches on the island with sand and shingle. There are also small pretty creeks around the resort with white sand and turquoise water with an array of water-sports to hand.
The ancient town of Ierapetra is on the south coast of Crete, has the longest beach on Crete and crystal clear waters. It has a pleasing waterfront and a good beach and has more of a local atmosphere than other resorts and larger towns. In the area of Ierapetra you will find old stone farmhouses, monasteries and villages perched on mountain ridges. There is a coastline of rocks but also lots of endless sandy or pebble beaches in and around the area.
Malia is a coastal town just 34 km west of Heraklion and although it is usually compared to Hersonisos, Malia is completely different. It has one of the longest stretches of beach in Crete and provides a wide selection of amenities.
